EDIT 3:, Around 10 PM last night all my groupme chats disappeared . I still get notifications on my phone but I can’t see my groups on my phone or computer. Issue with viewing/DMing members. I was just added to a new group, but I’m having a problem where I can’t click on certain people’s names to DM them. Additionally, I was able to DM one person, but then I just reopened the app (on both iOS and web) and noticed that the entire chat window had disappeared and now I can’t click on their name anymore.
8/24/2020 · Blocking a group member doesn’t mean that you won’t see their messages in the group chat. They won’t disappear from the group either. Blocking only prevents a contact from sending you direct messages. Therefore, you’ll still see everything they share in the group. Luckily, you won’t be bothered by unwanted DM ’s.
4/5/2020 · Short answer, no. GroupMe doesn’t seem to have any way to tell if someone has blocked you or not. The blocked person is not notified and there is no obvious change in how the app behaves if you do block someone. If the blocked person DMs you, they don’t get an undeliverable message, the DM .
