1/23/2019 · Your report should be received by the Dean, UQ Graduate School no later than 5 weeks after receipt of the thesis. Once your preliminary report has been received, the Dean will make a recommendation based on both examiners’ reports. Candidates will be aware of the examiners’ identity but are prohibited from making contact with the examiners.
Role of Chair of Examiners When your thesis has been submitted for examination, your school will appoint a Chair of Examiners who will ensure any changes requested by examiners are implemented. The Chair of Examiners is an academic staff member at UQ who is familiar with your research discipline and will provide advice to the Graduate School.

Discuss potential examiners with your advisory team at the thesis review milestone, or about 3 months before your submission date. When considering potential examiners, remember to think about who might be best suited to the material and who could act as a professional reference. A minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8 examiners can be nominated. All of your examiners need to be external to UQ.
